Dreaming....

I’ve found my dream house/business. I would love to buy this property and turn it into a bed and breakfast. The problem is it costs 1.4 million dollars. What if nobody came? That would really suck! I would have a hard time paying that mortgage For those of you who have not been here, Santa Maria di Leuca is a town on the very tip of the heel of Italy. The coastline is very rugged down there. Check out the views of the last few photos. This would be a great place to get away from it all.

Dear Jeff,
I discovered your blog about 2 weeks ago and I love it. I really appreciate the information on Brindisi and the photos and - most of all - something I call "The eye of the stranger". I'm not Italian either and I didn't visit Italy, but my country and my language are so related to the one you're living in right now... it's Romania (yes, the name is coming from "Rome", we've been conquered by romans ages ago)...
About your dream house: it is astonishing. But really expensive. Why don't you buy a trullo? I found on the net some really cheap and nice trulli in Puglia.
Please excuse my english:)) It's not my mother tongue (is that the correct term?)
Alina.

Oh it's lovely! If you do buy that house, and turn it into a B&B, I promise that we'll spend at least a week there at some point. How does that sound? :)

Sounds Marvelous!

Oh, the sea. Sounds so nice this time of year in Ohio.

Alina,
Your English seems as good as mine because I didn’t notice anything wrong, so no worries. The trulli are very old and require work that only a few people are allowed to do. Also they don’t have windows and I would like to have a bright, sunny house. I am looking for a villa in the trulli area (Valle d’Itria) with fruit, olive, almond, and other trees. That would be a more realistic dream.

Annika,
What if a week in my B and B cost as much as your whole upcoming trip to Italy?

Kent,
I like your recent photos on your blog. Is that the new camera giving new inspiration?

Si. The new camera is lots of fun. I enjoy taking pictures with it. I am looking forward to visiting you and Italy again...and to snap lots of photos with the new equipment.

Ciao

Looks amazing, indeed.

The outside terrace area reminds me a lot of the scene in Capote, when Truman is writing the end of In Cold Blood. Doesn't it?

John,
I haven't seen that movie but I think that view would be good to use in the movies. And it would be one of the cheaper locations to shot in!
