Lemon Macros

I brought the lemon tree inside this weekend because it was sooo cold. It could have probably taken the temperature but I didn’t want to risk it. While it was inside I decided to try some macro shots. Look at all those flowers getting ready to bloom. Unfortunately my interest in the lemon tree means the cats have stepped up their interest in it and I’ve seen a few buds knocked off already. They can’t leave anything alone. I did get some fun shots of Nello yawning just like Kent did last time they were here.

Day 8 That cat is nothing but trouble

Nello is getting in the way so I’ve decided to store him in this drawer for the month. Just kidding.
He is always trying to get into things and this is the latest story. I wake up in the middle of the night because I here all kinds of scraping (later I realize it’s his claws and the drawer sliding slowly out) coming from the “cassetto” right next to the bed. I’m naturally in a mood of “What the hell is going on in here!!!” I wake up to see the situation in the photo today. He’s learned how to get into something else!!! Ugh that _____ cat! So the angry mood changes to laughter as I see how excited he is to have ANOTHER place to sleep. Now, if chase him out of it then I close the drawer and watch him with my "you-better-not-do-it-look" he will sit by the magic drawer and cry as if to say, “Can I open it? Pleeeeaaasseee.”

It's about to begin....

Brothers and Sisters are you ready. Don't the cats look scared. They should be. Tomorrow begins a new month but it’s not like any other month and this year is not like any other year. I’m going to attempt something that has never been done (as far as I know, but I haven’t researched it too hard). I’m going to join NaBloPoMo and that would make me Brindisi’s first member if I can pass THE TEST. First let me explain. This jumble of letters stands for National Blog Posting Month for those of you not keeping up with the times, which is most of you! This exclusive club requires that you blog EVERY DAY in the month of November. This November I’m going to “Just Do It” and I WILL join this elite club that WILL surely rule the world, someday. So EVERY DAY of the coming month I will blog AND I’m going one further and I say that I will have a new, never before seen photo with every entry.
This sounds tough and it may be, but I need a challenge, as this blogging thing is getting too easy. Things may go a little haywire this month. Laundry may not get done. Personal grooming may be overlooked but there will be something new here. Just last night a funny thing happened to me on the way home from work that will make a good story during the up coming month. Also we have a lot of events coming up. I might as well say it. We have my birthday in this month. We have Mama Roots in concert. I will be in Rome for Thanksgiving and who knows where else. So stay tuned as I hope to blog about things you never seen or even thought you would see. It may get personal you may be offended but remember it’s for your entertainment only.

Little update. I decided to add this scary photo of Mara for Halloween. You have to go back 3 years on my blog to see when I last carved a pumpkin.

Last Chance?

I know I said summer was over but that doesn’t mean I have to accept it. This weekend I went to the beach one last time, maybe. I’m pretty sure I won’t be going again because the water was frickin’ cold. I WAS TOLD that the water would stay warm into October. Well if you call the water this weekend warm then you must have some Viking blood in you. I think the wind may have mixed things up and took away the warm water. I did go snorkeling anyway and I managed one last good photo of a fish. This fish was a beauty too. Definitely related in the Luna Wrasse you see in Zoos and Aquariums. I don’t know if you can tell how purple and blue the head of this fish is. It was really hard to even get the fish in the frame, let alone get the light right.

Also I haven’t had any photos of Nello and Mara on the blog lately so I tried to get some new shots of them on Sunday.

The Cats

Mom was asking for a new photo of the cats (they are getting to big to be kittens), so here we have a more recent photo. Mara (the black one) is getting big. This picture is a little strange because Nello is twice the size of Mara but he doesn't look it here.
